About me and the project

I’m Grzegorz Parka, software developer based in Warsaw (Poland), with academic background both in Technical Physics and Computer Science, attendant of Google Summer of Code 2014.

For this summer I was chosen by INCF to work on the Python Object Oriented Kernel Current Source Density project, shortly pykCSD. The project is under the supervision of prof. Daniel Wójcik from the Polish Node of INCF, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology.

Kernel Current Source Density1 is a recently developed method for estimating the density of trans-membrane current sources, which can be used for a detailed study of neuronal synaptic dynamics. The goal of this project is to implement the method using a scientist and developer friendly stack – Python, NumPy and SciPy.
